Split a 3MF into STL files, by part or by colour

Open a Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer project, see the parts exploded in 3D and download each part or each painted colour as STL. Nothing to install and no file uploads to servers.

Free account, no credit card. Includes a demo model so you can try it before using your own files.

How to split a 3MF into STL

  1. 1

    Open the 3MF

Drag the project onto the page. Nothing is sent to any server.

  2. 2

    Preview and pick

3D preview with exploded parts. Click a part to select it or split it from the rest.

  3. 3

    Download

One STL per part or colour, a ZIP with everything, or a new 3MF.

Made for people who print to sell

Printing a multicolour model on a single-colour printer, sending a customer only the missing part or spreading production across several machines: it all starts with splitting the project into separate files.

Split by part
Every object and part of the project appears with its slicer name, ready to download as STL.
Split by painted colour
Reads multicolour painting from Bambu Studio and PrusaSlicer and keeps the project's real filament colours.
Closed parts
Each colour region is closed into a solid, so it doesn't reach the slicer as an open shell.
Local processing
Your file never leaves your computer. Ideal for customer models or purchased files.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Kubo3D 3MF splitter do?

It opens a 3MF project and splits it into its parts or into the colour regions painted in the slicer. Each part or colour can be downloaded as STL, as a ZIP with all STL files, or as a new 3MF.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The 3MF is read and split in your browser, on your computer. The server only records that you used one of your plan's models and never receives the file.

Can I split a colour-painted model into one STL per colour?

Yes. The splitter reads the multicolour painting saved in the 3MF by Bambu Studio or PrusaSlicer and uses the project's real filament colours. Each colour region comes out as a closed part, ready to print or use in another slicer.

Is it free?

The Free plan lets you split 5 models per month by part and preview the colour split. Pro and Premium raise the limit and let you download the colour split.

Which files can I open?

.3mf projects saved in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer and other programs that follow the 3MF format. Models with several parts, several objects or multicolour painting are supported.

How is this different from a slicer like Cura or Bambu Studio?

A slicer turns the model into G-code for the printer. The Kubo3D 3MF splitter works one step earlier: it divides the project into separate STL files, by part or by colour, to print on single-colour printers, send to a customer or reorganise production.
